The Trek Thought the White Mountains

Approximately 3 months ago I partook in a very grueling and tough hike through the white mountains. The hike was around 6 miles and took me about 5 hours to complete. The terrain was rugged and riddled with big granite rocks. The reason I chose to go on this hike was because of my family. We had planned it as a sort of bonding activity between us and another family that we were close with. We begun the walk and it was a sunny hot and humid summer day. This then turned into a wet and raining trek through the mountain as it started to rain quite heavily. We had to haul our hiking backpacks through the rain with big trash-bags pulled over the top to stop them from getting too wet. It took us nearly 5 hours to get to the top of the mountain, as we came to, there was a big chalet at the top, they called it the hikers chalet. It's a small chalet that holds around 60 people, you can stay here at the peak of the mountain before you return to the bottom. We stayed overnight and left early in the morning, The walk back down the mountain was a different experience. I was sore in different places and there was a ton of strain on my lower back. The route back down was also slightly less familiar but it did take us quicker to reach the bottom. The climb to the top was though enough when it was rainy and when but on the way down it was super slippery and dangerous. The one thing that I would link this walk with something from class would be the wildlife that i encountered, I was really paying attention to the environment and I managed to figure out the kinds of producers and consumers that live inside of this environment. This connects with the class topic of producers and consumers.
