The Trek Thought the White Mountains

Image
Approximately 3 months ago I partook in a very grueling and tough hike through the white mountains. The hike was around 6 miles and took me about 5 hours to complete. The terrain was rugged and riddled with big granite rocks. The reason I chose to go on this hike was because of my family. We had planned it as a sort of bonding activity between us and another family that we were close with. We begun the walk and it was a sunny hot and humid summer day. This then turned into a wet and raining trek through the mountain as it started to rain quite heavily. We had to haul our hiking backpacks through the rain with big trash-bags pulled over the top to stop them from getting too wet. It took us nearly 5 hours to get to the top of the mountain, as we came to, there was a big chalet at the top, they called it the hikers chalet. It's a small chalet that holds around 60 people, you can stay here at the peak of the mountain before you return to the bottom. We stayed overnight and left early i

Section 1  The person who I chose to describe write about in the entire history of the environment in the U.S would be Elon Musk. Technically and strictly speaking Elon Musk is one of the Biggest environmentalists we have seen in a little while. His electric car company attempts to pull the general population from driving gas-powered vehicles He does this by reducing the emissions coming from gas-powered vehicles. These cars a typically powered by combustion and introducing an electric motor would reduce if not get rid of this issue. To aid the environment he is donating over $100 million to fund a competition to see who can find new ways to remove carbon from air and water. It is stated that tesla the company is to do the right thing for the environment and to ensure that tesla maintains its position as a leading green company. Elon musk is mainly motivated by the expansion of his company through means which are safe for the environment, the planet, and the people living on it. This

UK to make electric car charges compulsory in new buildings from 2022  By Euronews with AFP The UK has a rough plan to integrate car charges into every new building after 2022.  There are around 145, 000 charging ports per year will be installed, this is done with the goal of reducing pollution put into their air by vehicles. Vehicles are a huge primary contributor to todays emission rating, reducing the amount of gas driven cars on the road would aid in the race against pollution. A member of the COP26 climate change summit told business leaders that he is calling for charging ports to be mandatory in new homes, supermarkets, and workplaces in England. This is a direct progression towards eliminating new sales of diesel and petrol cars in the United Kingdom from 2030. It is said in the article that the UK wants to lead by example and make it so more electric cars are on the roads. There are currently around 25,000 charging ports in and around Britan. However, the competition and mark

Application Assignment #2 - Protecting Tigers

Section 1: The Endangered Species Over the years many animals have been driven to extinction. An animal that is currently listed as endangered is expected to go into extension in the near future. Certain species of animals may be at increased risk due to factors like habitat loss, poaching, and the introduction of invasive species. The current status of tigers is decreasing, they are getting closer and closer to becoming extinct. There are approximately 2,154-3159 mature individual tigers left in the world. They have a life expectancy of around 10 years while living in the wild. Tigers are one of the largest living cat species in the world. Since they are such large animals they can weigh up to 600Llbs as an adult. They are very recognizable throughout the animal kingdom due to their trademark dark vertical stripes over orange fur with a white underside. They are apex predators, which means they mostly prey on large animals like deer and wild boar. At birth tigers are called cubs, they

Section 1 - Environmental and health impacts presented in your reading      The article that I read was titled "‘Tsunami of data’ could consume one fifth of global electricity by 2025" . The environmental impacts that are present in my reading pertain to technologies use and its potential ability to cause bad global emissions. As it stood in 2015 global computing power from all the devices we use such as high definition streaming, surveillance cameras, and basically all other internet/power run devices are lead to the consumption of 3-5% of the worlds electricity.      The Human Health impacts that are present in this article stray a little bit far away from immediate harm. This is because the use of technology is projected to worsen the climate. Technology is only fairly new on the radar so its effects haven't been fully measured. With that being said technology is said to create climate change to some extent. This could lead to the risk of illness due to raising

My Favorite Place In Nature

Image
I think that my favorite place for me to go in nature would have to be the rainforest. However, Im not talking about any ordinary rainforest. My favorite rainforest would be the one located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The terrain in this country is filled forest-land and dense evergreen vegetation. This rainforest covers almost two fifths of the peninsula, with another fraction of the forest being counted as swamp forest. The tree-line is vast and expansive, with little gaps for light to seep in through the canopy of the trees.  Something that really resonates with me about this place is the sound. It's really relaxing and calming to sit there and listen to an unlimited amount of natural sounds, from water running down a stream to the sound of the local wildlife.  Malaysian Rainforest Canopy Malaysian Rainforest Waterfall
